Brian James Kirk is a freelance journalist, journalism educator and graphic designer living in Fairmount, Philadelphia.
In 2009, Kirk co-founded Technically Philly, a news startup covering technology and innovation in the Philadelphia region, helping to build an audience of 13,000 local readers. He is a an editor at MobileBurn, a consumer publication covering the mobile phone industry. Kirk is a regular contributor to Philadelphia City Paper, for which he pens geek culture column Peer-to-peer. He has written about Philadelphia’s burgeoning social technology scene in a weekly column for Philebrity and he has been published by Grid magazine, Philadelphia Weekly, Philadelphia magazine, and two.one.five magazine, among others.
